Health Education and Wellness

ASANTE is offering the following classes to promote health and wellbeing:

  • Effective Strategies to Achieve Well-Being:  This group will explore effective strategies to resolve depression, anxiety and other mood disorders as well as achieving a higher level of well-being.
  • Depression: learning Effective Strategies : This eight-session program will help you learn about the relationship between thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physical symptoms and the way they can build on each other, keeping you in a cycle of depression. You’ll learn ways to recognize these patterns and tips for taking care of yourself and breaking the cycle.
  • Health Lifestyle: This group will explore simple yet effective methods to holistically live a healthy lifestyle. Topics will include: healthy eating, exercise, mediation, spiritual growth, mind-body connection, managing stress and anxiety, and more.
  • Healthy Lifestyle for Teens: This two-session class is designed to help teens develop healthy eating and physical activity habits for more energy and better health. The first session focuses on good nutrition for growing teens, healthy food and drink choices, and positive thinking for a healthy lifestyle. The second session focuses on understanding food labels, tips for safe, healthy cooking, and fun ways to be physically active. Both sessions are open to 13- to 17-year-olds and their parents.
  • Living Well with High Blood Pressure: This class will teach you about the lifestyle changes you can make to fight hypertension, including healthy food choices, exercise, and tips on taking your blood pressure correctly.
  • Living Well with Diabetes: Discover how to make the right choices in diet and exercise, and learn how monitoring and medications can help prevent diabetes complications. This multi-session program gives you the information you need to help you develop healthy habits to manage your diabetes.
  • Insomnia Class: If you are dealing with insomnia, take this class to learn about sleep/ wake cycles, acute versus chronic insomnia, sleep disorders, lifestyle tools, and sleep hygiene. You will also get information about resources and workshops that can help.

The cost of programs, classes, training and therapeutic counseling services varies. We do accept cash payments and third party payees. We also participate in many insurance networks and we will bill your insurance as a courtesy to you. You will be responsible for your co-pays as per your policy. Please bring a copy of your insurance card.
